HAVE VA DEMS MADE A HUGE MISTAKE ?!

Former Democratic National Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe seemed ready to win the Virginia Democratic Primary election for Governor, but in the end , former House Delegate (1992–2001)and current Senator Creigh Deeds pulled a come from behind "surprise" victory.

One problem with this scenario is Deeds lost to the Republican nominee for Governor Bob McDonnell in 2005.

Will Deeds have what it takes to win this time ?

Establishment Rank & File Virginia Democrats are gambling he will.
At the end of a close three-way race against former DNC chair Terry McAuliffe and former State Delegate Brian Moran, Deeds won by a large margin, taking about 50 percent of the of the vote in the June 09, 2009 Democratic Primary.
For various reasons, McAuliffe would have been the better candidate.
McAuliffe is a longtime fundraiser and political operative for the Democratic Party. He served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee and also served as chairman of the 2008 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. McAuliffe told The Washington Post that he is "best suited to carry the Democratic banner because he would campaign as a business leader who can bring jobs to Virginia."

McAuliffe was also a serious advocate of Alternative Energy Technologies and hoped to make Virginia a leader in the field. He also has the ability to raise money to match or even excede the $5 Million McDonnell already has banked for the campaign.

Will Deeds "Git Er Done" this time ?
Or will Virginia be stuck with a Republican governor in 2010 ?
