The Republicans insist on pursuing the well worn path of deception and misinformation when dealing with the electorate.
Case in point: The McCain Campaign.
A lot of people felt sorry for John McCain a little over eight years ago [... no...not because of his P.O.W. experience] when he ran against George W. Bush for the Republican presidential nomination because of the slurs on his character manufactured by Karl Rove and other Bush partisans. Well now these bastards work for him and he is the standard bearer for the party of Banks, Big Business, Corporations, and Tax Cuts for the overburdened billionares.
And we see him selling his own brand of the same snake-oil Bush [ both of 'em ] and Reagan did. He sees the reason for the financial breakdown [ to an economy which in his mind was "sound" only weeks ago ] as "poor" people moving into homes they couldn't afford. Probably the same "welfare cheats" of the Reagan years. Hyper-speculations and extreme CEO salaries aren't part of the McCain scenario. The expense of the bungled Iraq War doesn't seem to have much to do with it either. He feels Obama is too "inexperienced" to grapple with the complexities of the issues ... then chooses as a running mate a clueless "cheerleader" to repeat the mindless slogans [ Drill Here -- Drill Now ] discredited smears [ Obama is a muslim terrorist who plotted with 60's Radicals when he was a child ] and encouraged members of the NRA to perhaps take a "shot" at this guy, all in the spirit of fun similar to the not so funny jokes of T.V.'s newest talkshow host, Mike Huckabee.
That is why, as his hands quiver and shake from the onset of Alzheimer's Disease, McCain assures everyone we need his "steady" hand running The White House. He works to convince us if we just give even more tax cuts to major corporations and private billionares, money will eventually "trickle" down to the less affluent working Americans. McCain insists the "surge" in Iraq has "worked," so we have a tactical success in a strategic blunder of a war which is unjustified in the first place, and which may have something to do with the collapse of The U.S. Economy. As much as I do hate to say it ...
The "Straight" Talk Express has taken the "off" ramp.
